Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern every purchase made through the Royal Scent website. Royal Scent is a trading name operated under the authority of Ngcoya Industries (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in South Africa (registration number 2020/596959/07), operating from 129 Main Road, Observatory, Cape Town. References to "we", "us", "our", or "Royal Scent" in these Terms mean Ngcoya Industries (Pty) Ltd trading as Royal Scent. These Terms were last updated on 20 August 2026.

By browsing our website, placing an order, or otherwise using any part of our service, you agree to be bound by these Terms in full. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use our website or place an order with us.

You must be 18 years or older to place an order with Royal Scent, as this is the age at which South African law recognises a person as having full legal capacity to enter into a binding contract. If you are under 18, you may only place an order with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who must complete the purchase on your behalf or expressly authorise it. By placing an order, you confirm that you are either 18 or older, or that you have obtained the necessary consent of a parent or guardian.

Our Products

Royal Scent's Impression series fragrances are our own independently formulated interpretations, created to evoke the character of well-known designer fragrances. They are not the genuine designer products, and Royal Scent is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or in any way officially connected to Parfums Christian Dior, Gianni Versace S.r.l., Creed, Kayali, or any other designer or brand referenced on our website or packaging. Any reference we make to a designer fragrance (for example, describing a product as "our impression of" or "generic of" a named scent) is used solely to describe the fragrance character or family for comparison purposes, and does not imply any association between Royal Scent and the referenced brand. All trademarks, brand names, and product names referenced on our website remain the property of their respective owners.

Orders

Once you have placed an order and your payment has been successfully processed, we consider your order accepted and will proceed to fulfil it — we do not reserve a general right to cancel an order after payment has succeeded. The one exception to this is where a product has been listed on our website at a materially incorrect price as a result of a genuine pricing or system error. In that specific case, we will cancel the affected order and refund you in full; we will not fulfil an order at a price we can show was a clear error.

Prices and Payment

All prices displayed on our website are in South African Rand (ZAR) and are inclusive of any applicable VAT, unless stated otherwise. Payment is processed securely through PayFast; Royal Scent does not receive or store your card details. An order is only confirmed once payment has been successfully processed by PayFast.

Discount Codes

Discount codes are limited to one code per order and cannot be combined with any other discount code or promotional offer, unless we state otherwise. A discount code reduces the price of the eligible products in your order only — it never reduces or applies to your delivery charge. We reserve the right to withdraw, deactivate, or void any discount code at any time, including a code already in a customer's possession, without prior notice — for example, where a code has been misused, shared publicly without authorisation, or issued in error.

Delivery and Risk

Risk in the products you order — including risk of loss or damage — passes to you only once the order has been delivered to you or collected by you, not on dispatch. Until that point, the risk remains with us.

Cancellations, Returns and Refunds

You may cancel your order at any time before it has been dispatched for delivery or made available for collection, by contacting us directly. Our full policy on returns, refunds, and the statutory cooling-off period is set out in our Returns Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

Affiliate Program

Royal Scent operates an affiliate program through which approved affiliates may generate discount codes for their audience and earn commission on qualifying sales. Participation in the affiliate program is governed by a separate Affiliate Terms & Conditions, which every affiliate must accept before their account is activated.

Intellectual Property

All content on our website — including our logo, product photography, packaging design, and written content — is owned by or licensed to Royal Scent / Ngcoya Industries (Pty) Ltd and may not be copied, reproduced, or used without our prior written permission.

Limitation of Liability

While we take care to package and dispatch every order properly, we are not liable for any loss or damage to your order caused by a courier or delivery service once it has left our possession, beyond what is recoverable from that courier on your behalf. To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, we are not liable for any indirect, special, or consequential loss arising from your use of our website or products. Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2005, that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of our website will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Western Cape, South Africa.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our business or the law. The version published on our website at the time you place an order is the version that applies to that order.
